TIMOTAY LANDSCAPES SCOOPS NATIONAL LANDSCAPING ACCOLADE FROM APL

2016 has seen Timotay Landscapes achieve a second Highly Commended accolade, this time from the Association of Professional Landscapers (APL) for a contemporary outdoor living space for a client’s modern, contemporary styled home situated beside the River Dee, Chester.

The Association of Professional Landscapers comprises accredited landscape companies who design, build and maintain gardens throughout the UK. The APL is the only landscaping scheme operator of Trustmark, a Government endorsed initiative that promotes professional trades to consumers.

The APL awards, now in their 20th year, recognise and promote the very best in landscaping undertaken by APL members in categories – Timotay Landscapes achieved highly commended status for the £100 - £250k category and were amongst the winners announced at awards event held at The Brewery in London on Friday 4 March 2016.

The Highly Commended Project by Timotay

Following the new build of their detached four-floor riverside home, the client enlisted Timotay’s design and installation expertise to transform their outdoor space into a contemporary lifestyle garden, driveway and courtyard to complement their modern luxury home.

The property, situated at the end of a mews depicts a modern take on a boathouse, occupying a breath taking vantage point of the River Dee.  Styled in a cool render and topped with a slate roof the clients aspiration was to achieve an outdoor space with high social value, affording them defined areas for dining and entertaining that would also maximise the beautiful views across the River Dee and Mews of Chester, while at the same time considering the play needs of their young child.

This extensive scheme included the ground up bespoke design and development of the driveway, courtyard and rear garden with water feature and an array of hard and soft landscaping with the total scheme equating approximately 900-square meters.

This year’s judges were Richard Barnard from Hillier Landscapes (Chair), Chris Young, RHS Editor of The Garden Magazine, Steve Shore from Shore Landscapes , Bob Sweet - ex RHS Head of Garden Judging, Robin Templar Williams  from Robin Williams and Associates and Phil Tremayne  - APL National Account Manager.

Liam Wales, Domestic Landscapes Manager for Timotay Landscapes said:  “It was amazing to work on this beautiful property to transform the clients outdoor space and to have such a diverse canvas and expectation to work within, this is one of my most favourite domestic schemes.”
